2 (1) 4 (3)Here at Mary Kilvert, we are huge fans of the Frome Independent Market, which transforms the town centre on the first Sunday of the month from March to December.  Shortly after dawn, the town centre is closed off to traffic and a sea of green and white umbrellas announces the arrival of stalls from all over the South West.  Like Frome itself, the market champions independent, artisan producers selling anything you could want to find: artisan cheeses, locally farmed meat and vegetables, preserves made from seasonal fruits, cakes, crafts, bread – the list is endless!  We love the hot food area too, where you can find anything from Thai food to falafel.  The stalls stretch right up the cobbles of Catherine Hill, finishing just outside the Mary Kilvert shop.   Along with many of the shops on the Hill, we are open on Frome Independent days and we love the buzz created by the visitors who descend from all over the region.  Each month’s market has a theme: June’s is gardening.  The next market falls on Sunday 7 June coinciding with the second anniversary of our shop opening: do pop in and help us celebrate with drinks and nibbles.
